All I Want for Christmas....

All I want for Christmas is for the snow to go away. I love the snow but it is starting to drive me crazy. Being stuck in the house has caused me to deep clean my room. Read lots of books and do lots of projects When will it end. Weatherman Walt perdicts more snow. AHHH! I just want to go to work, go shopping, do something. Hopefully it will go away soon. Beth and I have had our laughs though. We had to take the garbage to the curb last night and had to dig are way out. You can barely see my car on the street. I am jealous of my cousin who is in Cabo this week for Christmas. Well anyway Enjoy the snow and have a very Merry Christmas.

It has been really fun trying to think of all the fun things we make. After christmas I will share all the gift made and given this year. Hope you all have great Christmas.

Fundraiser for Ammy

We are just trying to get the word out that there are a couple of fundraisers gong on for Beth and Ammy right now. One is through bank of America. There is a fund set up there titled "Amethyst Palmer Medical Fund" If you wish to donate you can go into any Bank of America and put money into the account.
The second one is tomorrow night at Papa's Pizza in Beaverton. If you go to the website you can find directions. There is also a blank flyer to print out. You must have that. You can just write Ammy's name in the blank. This Fundraiser is on Wednesday December 3rd all day.

Both of these funds will help as Bethany is unable to work at this time do to the care of Ammy.

Thank you all so much for your prayers for Ammy. She is doing amazing. The plan is that she will be released on December 11th. I couldn't ask for a better birthday present.

life's roller coaster

I can't believe it has been almost a month since I have posted. So many things have happenend. Ammy is doing great she is getting better and stronger each day. She is actually home right now on a mini vacation from the hospital YEAH!!!!! School and everything is going well. Although all is tough with Ammy I have reliezed more and more God's amazing grace. There have been many moment where God has shown his mighty power. I can't share all now but I know that God has Great plans for Ammy she is a miracle and I know that God will use her.

On another tangent a dear Family to me is going through a rough time. The Worship pastor at Tigard's position has been made part time. My heart goes out to their family. They have always been a tremendous support to me and I know that this is very troubling to them. My prays are with you guys.

School is good I am almost done with this term and signed up for next term. I might possibly take 16 credits this term we will see if that happens. Haven't decided yet. I will try and post tomorrow about the adventures we have tomorrow CG has his starwars party yeah.

Thank you's to you all

I know I haven't posted for a while but it has been to hard to post. Most of you know dear Little A went into the hospital a week from Saturday (Oct 25) with back pain and not being able to walk. After a very long day at St. V's (13 hours) we were sent to Dornbechor for a MRI. They found a tumor in her spinal cord. Dornbacher operated immediately. We were on sure if she would be able to walk again. After a little over a week of Physical Therapy and Occupational therapy A is moving so much and fiesty as ever. The doctors are amazed and A has a new trick each day for her therapist. Her fine motor skills are slowly coming back. She was able to draw a picture yesterday which is a huge success. We found out on Sunday (Nov 2) that A's tumor is Cancer. Luckily it is slow growing and the estimate is that she has had this most of her life. A had a spinal tap today so she is really sad. A will be transfered to Emmanuel on Thursday for Rehab into home. I am so proud of her. She will start radiation soon after she is done with rehab.

Thank you all so much for all your support and prayers. God is doing a miracle everyday in her. Emotions are all over the place the right now. I have reassured all the time by God's miracles. My verse of the day in google said it best it was Phillipians 4:19. (look it up if you have a chance). Sorry for the long blog just thought I should share with those who don't read michelle's blog

Bet you didn't know

While watching the presidental debate I wondered where does the vice president live? here is the answer.

In July 1974 Congress designated a house on the southeast corner of 34th Street and Massachusetts Avenue in Washington DC where the vice president of the United States would live. Located on the grounds of the United States Naval Observatory, the house was built in 1893 for the Superintendent of the Observatory.
Before 1974, vice presidents either bought a temporary home in Washington DC or stayed at hotels.

life is crazy

Life is flying by. I have enjoyed spending a lot with mister C and Miss C. They are so fun. Miss C has started getting huge smiles when she see me. It makes me so happy. My Niece "Al" came up this weekend. We had so much fun spoiling her. She is growing up so fast. I can't believe she is a junior in high school. It is crazy how fast tume goes. This weekend we are going to the Pumpkin Patch so I will post about that later.

School Again

So I am back in School. I am enjoying but I forgot how much stress it is. Life just seems to be going in fast forward. I will apply as soon as my final grade comes in for graduation. I am applying finally for Phi Theta Kappa. This is a huge thing for me since you have to keep up a 3.5 and I was never good at school. I have kept my GPA up all through college which is amazing considering all that has happenend in my life while in College. As soon as Finicial Aid goes through I will apply to PSU and start there I think in Fall considering how crazy finicial aid has been this term I don't want to go through all that at PSU. Work has cut back a little bit which is both good and bad. I have more time for school but less money.

Some good thing that have been happening:

1. Have spent a lot of time with my sisters
2. Gotten to know the people in our neighborhood.
3. I am starting a Daisy troop for A
4. I am helping with TCC's Kids choir which is a blast.
5. I have really started fitting in at Potter's Hands.
6. I am begining to see the things I love about myself and finding who I am
7. I started a really good bible study When God's people pray. It's not my favorite but I think that also has to do with where I am spiritually but that is another blog entirely. Don't worry I am fine just questioning why some people have to deal with so much pain in their lives and other's don't have to worry.

sorry for the long blog it has been awhile. I will try to make the next one more interesting.

Letterboxing

So I was looking around at some other blogs and found out about this thing called letterboxings. It sounded like lots of fun. They are little scanvenger hunts all around the country. You read the clues, find the box and mark that you found it. It started in the early 1900's in England. It sounded like so much fun that I convinced my two sisters and sister in law to go letterboxing. We went up to Jenkins Estate in Beaverton. Very beautiful and found 4 letterboxes. I don't have pictures but it was really fun. Thanks to my sisters for a great day.

missing my dad

I know it has been 7 years but every so often I really miss my dad. Life has changed so much this last year. It is hard to know that he hasn't been here to see it. Lots of things have mad me miss my dad this week.

1. I was reading my brother brians blog this week and he talked about the pastor at hillsong in Australia who lied to his congregation about having Cancer. This was really hard to understand how he could do that. I watched my dad go through so much and I can't understand why someone would lie about having cancer.

2. Finishing up the last of my classes. As I get ready to finish it up and get my associates degree it is hard to think that my dad doesn't get to see that. I know he would have been so proud.

3. Michelle and I hanging out on Monday talked alot about my dad. The last family photos we did was a year before dad passed away and while I know it is hard we are going to do them again. It will be hard not having dad in them.

Sorry this is a sad blog but I just thought I would share. I miss you dad.

update on my life

so it has been a while since I posted. Lots of little things have happenend. My sister Bethany and I have started planning to lead a daisy girl scout troop so I have been working on that.

I had the chance to catch up with an old friend. We had a little falling out so it was good to reconnect. It is hard though. Things have changed so much. were are both differant yet the same.

I house sat for my boss for about a week and this week my other boss is on vacation so fun times and relaxation for me. On Monday I got to spend a great day hanging out with my sister michelle. Some may find it weird how much I do with my sisters, but they are truly my best friends. I am so lucky to have them.

As for the last part of this week. I will be finishing up my final class yeah.

Tithing and money

So In church we have been talking a lot about finances. This I struggle with. I am getting back on track but have to say it is really hard. I have gotten myself in to lots of debt. I do not like fighting with the bank but have had to over weird charges. It is all so stressful to me. When talking about it in church we talked about how our money is given to us by God and we need to give back to him in return. This is so hard for me. I live basically pay check to pay check so when face with giving and addition 10% away that seems really hard. So I was very stress on monday to sit down and write my bills for August and start paying things away. I was going to be in the hole, yet when I decided that no matter what I was going to give to church this month I got paid extra then I had budgeted from both jobs plus a house sitting job and being paid back money owed to me. It is so cool to see how God always works when we do as he asks. I am loving this journey I am in in rediscovering God.

time flys

Wow I can't believe it has been almost a month since I blogged. Wallowa was great so much fun. I love the rodeo. The cowboys aren't to bad either:). Seriously Wallowa was a lot of fun I got to know some people better and new people as well. I can't imagine not going to Wallowa. I did some much needed thinking about life and where I am going. I still feel like I have made the right desicion about church and career path.

Lots has happenend in the last month. I found out that a good friend from high school is pregnant. Yeah!!!! I am so happy for her. Little A starts Kindergarten. I can't believe my neices and nephews are growing so fast.

I have been working and house sitting. It has been a great summer with the kids I Nanny usually by August we are all a little sick of each other but this year we have had so much fun. we have been swimming and going lots of places. I introdeced them to the library which seems to be very exciting surprising since I grew up going to the library that they had never been.

We have been getting to know our neighbor pretty well and have invited them to church so those who pray, pray that they will join us soon.

Last little bit of news is that I have decided on a school schedule Spanish, world religions and math 111. Talk about a stressful Fall.

summer vacation

So my brother in law's family has been going to wallowa since he was little. 4 summer's ago after my sister had little C she asked me to go with them to help with little man. I went and got hooked. I have been going ever since. Below is a veiw of the lake. You truly feel closer to God and his amazing beauty when you are there. It is one of my best reflection times on where I am with God. This year however we started a new tradition. Yesterday some of the ladies that go got together and did pedicures. It was so fun. Most of them I only see when we go camping. Thank you to my sister to introducing me to the Wallowas and some really great people.

Summer Adventures

So it is July and I have yet to do anything exciting. I have been pretty much a homebody. I have gone through many boxes trying to get rid of things and finally unpack. I have also started going to the library again. So I have read lots of good books. Some more interesting than others. It has been fun to have a relaxing summer. I have also been able to enjoy being an Aunt to Calleigh and Colin and Ammy. I just love my neices and nephews. I just wish I got to see both my brother's kids more. I go to Wallowa in about a week and a half I am so excited.
Hope you all are having a great summer.

CARS can't afford to live with them or without them

I tend to think I have a pretty good car. It seems though that when it rains it pours. I just fixed my brakes earlier this month. Not just one but all four brakes needed fixing. My car has been making a really weird noise. come to discover that my wheel barring axle? needs fixing. $1000 later hopefully their will be no more problems for a while. Just when I am think I will be getting ahead.

8 credits to finish until I get my Associates!!!

Today I took one of my last finals until the end of the Summer. I am joining an online class this summer to finish up my child development class and and one paper left to do for my Inimate and Family relations class. YEAH. I am so excited. Life seems stressful right now try to apply for my associates degree, apply to PSU and working over full time but I guess that is what life is all about.

On a happier note the start of summer has been great. As you can see in the picture below, My sister B, my neice and I all got up at 5:00 AM to go see the Hot Air Balloons in Tigard before church. We were very sneaky. We parked on a side street so we wouldn't have to pay for parking and we sat over by the track at THS so we didn't have to pay to go in to the festival. So far this summer has been filled with hanging out with my sisters, my neices and nephews, and celebrating a good friends graduation from PSU. To add to the fun I get to hang out with my cousin this weekend. I am so glad that my family is also some of my bestest friends. I love all of you though. Hope you all are having a great summer as well.

The Big Church Hop

It has been made official. Begining July 6th Potter's Hands will be my new Church home. I am very excited yet very sad at the same time. I have gotten to know some great Women at Potters hands and I feel really accepted and loved there. It is so differant to be in a church where I am being spiritually fed and can be who I am with out any strings attached. I feel like I can really worship at Potters Hands. I will miss Tigard very much. A lot of people have become like family to and have really supported me through my schooling and life in general. To those at Tigard Thank you for your support and to those at Potters Hand I am very excited to build stronger friendships with you.
